“I’m Emma. I work for Wolfestone and I am the HR manager. We’re based here in Swansea and I’ve been working for the company for almost five years now. I initially met somebody from Chwarae Teg at a networking event. We were invited to attend a workshop on equality and diversity”.
After the workshop we had somebody come out and actually have a look at our business, as it was at the time.
So, looking at what policies we had in place and whether we were monitoring quality and diversity properly. And we were able to then come up with an action plan of what we would need to do to improve everything that we already had for the future.
We had Gemma (Agile Nation Project, Senior Project Officer) come in and actually do training for our management team on how to manage flexible working applications.
For me, that was really useful to have, that person to just kind of speak to and discuss ideas with. This has given the whole team the confidence to go forward and I feel like we can make the best decision for the individual and the company.
I understand what the business needs to succeed but I also understand what the people need to succeed.
